Custom Wildlife Adventure
Tell us which wildlife interests you most. We build the route around season, tide, recent activity and your available time.
What would you most like us to help you find?
Black Bears
Seasonal opportunities near salmon streams and feeding areas.
Bald Eagles
Adult and juvenile eagles near shorelines and salmon areas.
Pacific Salmon
Seasonal runs, hatchery areas and underwater viewing.
Harbor Seals
Shoreline and sandbar viewing may improve around low tide.
Low tide can change the shoreline.
Exposed sandbars, rocks and shallow feeding areas can improve some seal and eagle viewing opportunities.
Whale watching is a partner experience.
Aarons Adventures coordinates transportation. The partner company operates and separately charges for the boat excursion.
Whale DetailsA glimpse of Juneau’s remarkable wildlife.

Black bears of Juneau.
Bear sightings are a welcome bonus, not a guaranteed stop.
Juneau has an abundant black bear population, but bears are wild, mobile and often elusive. Aarons Adventures does not operate a dedicated bear-searching tour or spend hours driving across town solely to locate one. When a bear safely appears along your planned route, we will pause when practical so your group can enjoy the sighting and take photographs from a respectful distance. If no bear appears, you have not paid for a bear-only excursion based on chance.

Bear encounters captured on video.

Wildlife is wild.
Distance and respect must be given to every animal. Wildlife may behave unpredictably, especially while feeding, protecting young or reacting to nearby people, vehicles or animals.
- Never approach, touch or feed wildlife.
- Use zoom instead of moving closer.
- Follow guide instructions and posted rules.
- Always leave the animal a clear route to move away.
